The fight over data centers looks like a war on the future. Underneath sits an old argument about who pays for what a neighbor builds, and who gets to say no.
I have a brother-in-law who is a solar architect. He is in the process of working out a deal with the government of Chile. They have massive amounts of solar panels and produce more power than they can use. He is going to be creating data centers for them to use the excess solar power. He says data centers do NOT need to run on water. Water is the cheapest way but centainly not the best or most efficient way. Certain states such as Colorado that have mostly sunny days should take note of this. There are other ways to get to the same end without the excessive use of water ( which is also a big deal in Colorado as we are in a drought).

AMEN! No favors for Mr. Wonderful. Pay for your own crap instead of passing it off onto us.
