To beat a dead horse is an expression of futility. That's what I feel today with Trump or Biden or the joke of American government. It seems to make one welcome socialism. We all know it will not work, but does the current America work? Two wrongs do not make a right. I actually look forward to not being here. Sad....
Larry- I can understand the natural reaction to be pessimistic about the outlook when so many young people are embracing these bad ideas. What gives me hope is the many children who are learning and embracing truth via our work. I benefit from hearing directly from parents about the impact we're having on their kids/family and that gives me fuel to keep at it when things are looking down.
It may be that society has to go through a "fourth turning" (see Howe/Strauss' work), a period of collapse and decay in order to discard bad ideas, bad investments, bad decisions—and then rebuild. Problem is, rebuilding requires having a large enough group of people who understand sound ideas so we don't fall into the same trap.
In sum, focusing on families and spreading our ideas to the next generation gives me energy to go on. I'm grateful that you've been part of making that happen to invest in reaching young people and fortifying their minds against the lies and deceptions they're bombarded with.
I saw that interview. Not just the glaring contradictions were evidenced… but the DSA advocate only spoke AT the interviewer. It wasn’t a conversation. The young DSA proponent regurgitated a political diatribe of dogma, untetheted in reality - devoid of detail; a position full of cliches and slogans.
Keeping it simple for simple minds, I suppose, works for the mentally vulnerable, the intellectually lazy, or the righteously convicted…
But none of that idealistic ‘reality’ changes actuality. It just reduces life to its lowest common denominator and calls that freedom.

it seems too late to me. I wanted Hillary to win in 2016 so we could get on with it. It will take a crisis to support change, perhaps like Argentina.
